It refers to the dance play describing a journey of the characters to its destination. Usually, the characters are a man and a woman who love each other, but sometimes they are a parent and a child, or a master and a servant. For accompaniment, the songs of Takemoto, Tokiwazu, or Kiyomoto are mostly used. The famous examples include “Michiyuki Tabiji no Hanamuko” in which Okaru and Kanpei from “Kanadehon Chushingura” are portrayed, and “Michiyuki Hatsune no Tabi” in which Shizukagozen and Kitsune Tadanobu from “Yoshitsune Sembonzakura” are portrayed.
