It is one of the Shamisen music that is a song accompanied by such musical instruments as the Shamisen, Kotsuzumi, and Nohkan. The music developed along with Kabuki as a type of theatrical music in Edo. In the Shosagoto plays, the music is performed on stage. Also, the Geza music is rendered by those who are involved in the Nagauta music.
The video is a part called “Kudoki” in “Kyoganoko Musume Dojoji”, which is both a highlight of the play and a climax of Nagauta.
