Toya Agemaku seen from the Hanamichi. -

It is a curtain that is hung over the entrance of Toya located at the end of the Hanamichi. The curtain is used during the entrance and exit of actors. As with Kamite-Agemaku, an Agemaku curtain is hung using Kanawa, metal rings, which make a unique “clink” sound when the curtain is handled with speed. And the audience looks to the Hanamichi when the “clink” sound is heard from the Hanamichi as an actor makes an appearance on stage.
