This is a Tokiwazu dance drama premiered as one scene in “Junihitoe Komachizakura” at Kiriza Theatre in 1784. It is said that the choreography for the leading role “Sekibe, actually Otomo no Kuronushi” performed by Nakamura Nakazo 1st has been inherited by the following generations. The play presents a mood of Kaomise-dance in the Tenmei period through a visionary story rich in variety about Otomo no Kuronushi who attempts to take over the whole country, and a fairy of Komachi-zakura which blooms in midwinter. There are highlights of “Bukkaeri” and “Ebizori”, speaking of the stage direction.
