Danmari in “Kagamiyama Kokyo no Nishikie”. Nakamura Kikaku 2nd as Motome, Ichikawa Kamejiro 2nd (Ichikawa Ennosuke 4th) as Ohatsu, and Bando Kamesaburo 5th (Bando Hikosaburo 9th) as Chikara. March, 2004 at the National Theatre.
It refers to the stage direction where some characters search for each other in the dark while keeping silent. The characters search for their important belongings such as a treasure or a letter by touch in silence. Danmari is set in darkness, so the actors need to pretend not to be able to see anyone or anything.
