As shown in the video, some sections of the stage go up and down. This mechanism is called Seri.
In the center of the Mawaributai is located Ozeri upon which the stage sets like a building may be installed. This enables to raise and lower the entire set. For example, lowering Seri during a scene that uses the first floor of the building can switch the scene to another scene on the roof. The movement of the entire building going up and down is quite a spectacle to see in the theatre. By using Ozeri, the change of scenes can be quickly done to entertain the audience’s eyes. Kozeri is located near the audience seats and used for the actors’ entrance and exit once a performance starts. It is impressive and exciting to see an actor gradually come up on Seri, while the audience watch over the performance on stage.
