【KEREN】
Chunori, a type of Keren stage direction, in “Yoshitsune Sembonzakura”. Ichikawa Ukon (Ichikawa Udanji 3rd) as Genkuro Gitsune. July, 2005 at the National Theatre.
It refers to a stage effect to spring a surprise on the mind of the audience by making use of stage sets and props. The chief examples are Hayagawari (an instantaneous change of costumes) and Chunori (flight on wires above the audience).
