Minamoto no Yoshitsune wearing Omigoromo in “Yoshitsune Sembonzakura”. Ichikawa Shinnosuke 7th (Ichikawa Ebizo 11th) as Yoshitsune. November, 2001 at the National Theatre. (Y_E0100226059005)
This is a costume specifically designed for Kabuki performance, not for the use in the real world. It is worn as a dressing gown by a person of upper class like a Shogun. The unique features are as follows: the cloth is decorated with gorgeous embroidered patterns and the bottom is so long as to be drawn along the ground, and the collar has a fold to be turned up behind the neck. As illustrated in the picture, Minamoto no Yoshitsune wears in “Kawatsura Hogen Yakata no ba” from “Yoshitsune Sembonzakura”, among other examples.
