Ende (from “Shibai Kinmo Zui”).
This is a type of wigs for Tachiyaku roles. The shape resembles to the swallow’s wings overhanging both sides of a top knot by letting the hair grow in the upper-forehead which men in the Edo period would usually shave off. The wig is worn by a villain or dreadful role in Jidaimono drama like Nikki Danjo in “Meiboku Sendaihagi”.
