One of the Kabuki-Juhachiban plays that was performed in 1718 for the first time by Ichikawa Danjuro 2nd. “Uiro” refers to a medicine from China and sold in Odawara. It is a medicine effective for the throat, clearing the head and smoothing the movement of the mouth. Uiro uri is a merchant who peddles that medicine.
One of the skill in the Aragoto is to speak long lines without faltering. Danjuro 2nd was known for saying the long lines of the peddler’s sales message quickly like a tongue twister.
